Our Team

ASHLEY  FLESCHNER

CEO & CO-OWNER

(HE/HIM)
Ashley founded Fleschner Construction in 2008 with the vision of providing a better remodeling experience for himself and his clients. The philosophy of continuous improvement is embodied in his approach to all remodeling projects no matter the size. When we embark on creating a new vision for our personal spaces, it is an extension of the individuals involved in the project and it is teamwork that brings that vision to reality.
Ashley is proud to have built a team consisting of individuals who share the goal of improving the shared remodeling experience. Fleschner Construction is a family owned general contracting company catering to clients who seek a partner to handle all components of their remodel. Ashley refers to this as “Concierge Construction”, and has aligned himself with trusted subject matter experts to execute this philosophy.
Ashley graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Anthropology, and spent several years traveling abroad. He spent an exchange year studying in Switzerland, and worked in both Germany and Ireland. He began his professional career in the 90’s in Silicon Valley at several startup enterprise software companies where he worked in sales, operations, and project management. Ashley left his corporate career and moved to Portland in 2004 where he began working in construction. After several years working for other contractors, Ashley founded Fleschner Construction in order to further his developing dream of a collective and improved construction experience.
Ashley enjoys spending time with his family, and taking long walks with his wife Andrea and dog Thora. The healing power of nature is rejuvenating. The mountains, forests, and rivers of the Pacific Northwest provide inspiration to Ashley’s soul. He enjoys skiing, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, and anything that brings him closer to the great outdoors. Each year Ashley and some of his closest childhood friends embark on an annual trip to explore a new region. Some of his trips include sea kayaking in Prince William Sound Alaska, canoeing Bowron Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia, and backpacking the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in Iceland.

ANDREA  FLESCHNER

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER & CO-OWNER

(SHE/HER)
Andrea started designing spaces as a little girl, creating a world for her barbies with books as beds, bar carts as multi-level condos and her grandma’s vintage handkerchiefs to fill in the gaps. This was the beginning of her life’s joy and passion which has spanned 20+ years.
She graduated with a degree in Interior Design from The Art Institutes International – Minnesota. After nannying her way through college, she was hired at an architecture firm and joined a dynamic international team of architects and designers – a dream come true. She spread her wings there, working on convention centers, places of worship, college campuses, elementary schools, historical neighborhood libraries, legacy government buildings and many downtown sky-rises.
The love of her life brought her to Portland where she’s been designing hotels for the past 11 years. McMenamins has been her most recognized client. She continues to collaborate with them on the interiors of their hotel guestrooms and refurbishing of antiques.
After years of encouragement and a little bit of begging from her husband, she joined the team at Fleschner Construction. Currently, Andrea acts as design consultant for in-house projects as well as part owner of the company. Clients find her friendly, down to earth, and easy to work with. She prides herself in her candor and frankness as she guides her clients through their design process. She delivers functional, inspired designs full of individual style where one can feel comfortable, relaxed and at home.
In her spare time she likes to take her pup for walks, go on adventures with her husband, and throw dinner parties for the ones she loves the most. Fondue anyone?

TIM  JOHNSON

DIRECTOR OF SALES & OPERATIONS

(HE/HIM)
“I’m really good at two things; breaking stuff and fixing broken things”
Born in the Pacific NW, Tim loves the varied topography found on the West Coast.
With a background in carpentry, he has been working in the construction industry for over 2 decades.
Tim decided to hang up his tool belt in his 30’s and go back to school to study mechanical engineering and considers it one of the hardest tasks he’s ever completed.
Tim finds that the most rewarding thing about working for Fleschner Construction is collaborating with his teammates, Designers & Architects, and helping customers visions come off the page and brought into reality.
While not on the clock, Tim is an avid two-wheel adventurer. He loves bicycling around the city, motorcycle trips to the beach, and moto camping by lakes and rivers in the high desert.
Building and creating from mainly repurposed materials in his 100 year old home also brings him much joy, and at the end of the day sharing a frosty pint with good friends always makes him smile.

Aaron can focus on many fast-changing elements while remaining calm and resourceful.
Aaron moved to Portland eleven years ago where he continued to manage Set Decoration for television and feature films, including Grimm. In 2020 Aaron changed paths, and began managing Fleschner Construction’s production team. Aaron enjoys working with his team to create beautiful spaces and joy for each client.

JAKE  SCHORR

LEAD CARPENTER

(HE/HIM)
Born and raised in Southern California, Jake found his way to Portland after college; moving here to work in outdoor education and be closer to his extended family. He taught at Oregon outdoor school for sixth graders and ran a bicycling summer camp program for several years. In 2019, after helping a family member with a home remodeling project, he decided to pursue a career in construction. He started at Fleschner Construction as an apprentice carpenter and is moving up the ranks quickly.
Jake likes to hunt for mushrooms, cheer on the Blazers and the Dodgers.  He loves adventuring by foot, bike, or ski. Another burgeoning passion is building overly elaborate furniture for his dog, Joey. He knows he’s not young or cool because he’s quickly becoming a pickleball enthusiast.

TORY SACARELOS

CARPENTER

(HE/HIM)
Tory grew up in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. After community college and years of working in restaurants, the pandemic offered a life shakeup. He explored the Southwest and through some harrowing circumstances, wound up in Portland to live with his family, the Fleschner’s. He started work as a carpenter’s apprentice in the summer of 2021 where he’s learning the skills he’ll need to survive any condition.
He appreciates the beauty that the PNW has to offer and hikes often with his dog, Voodoo.  He enjoys playing board games with his friends, reading, in depth movie discussion, live shows & festivals, and sipping a cold brew after work.

Thora was born into a thriving litter of Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldogs outside of Memphis, Tennessee.  Weighing in at a teeny tiny 17 pounds, and tucked under an airplane seat; she arrived in Portland spring of 2019.  Her mom and dad’s life hasn’t been the same since she joined the mayhem of the Fleschner family home.  She is the sweetest little lady Lou, and loves spending all day with her teammates.  You can find her most days lounging in an office chair while eating treats and napping. Thora’s unofficial job titles are “Office Manager” and “Hospitality Rep” for Fleschner Construction.

“They always ask, ‘Who’s a good girl?’, but they never ask ‘How’s the good girl?’”
